It’s been 10 days and Bailey (my dog) has had his second set of jabs. This means he was able to come out walking with me. We didn’t go too far, but he was really good and met Ruby (Dan and Hazel’s dog)along with a number of other dogs as we were out walking. Really please with how he behaved on the lead.
Managed to grab a few geocaches too. There is a set of 4 caches in pages wood. They were a really nice set and good for both beginner and experienced geocachers. Dubzie86 had already grabbed these before, but wanted to come as there was a travel bug that he wanted to grab.
It was very damp under foot. So if you are going to do this set, make sure you have a good set of wellies.
So it’s been a few weeks since my last update to this might be a long one. A few main things going on at the moment: new puppy called bailey, geocaching and London Affiliate Conference.
The main thing at the moment is the new addition to the house. We have bought a puppy that is a cross Labrador and Malamute. I have attached a picture below. He was 8 weeks old when we picked him up and has been really good. He is loving the snow, but so far we have only been able to let him out the back. Next weekend though we are taking him out for his first ever walk in a country park. Still trying to teach him to fetch – He runs after the ball a bit, but doesn’t yet bring it back. I’m sure he will soon pick up the idea.
I have only been geocaching once so far. This is mainly because I’ve been full of a cold (which I can cope with), but it has also been snowing a lot. While I’m not too fussed by the snow, it is now turning to ice and don’t really want to drive in it of I don’t have too. It’s been enough fun walking to work. Only missed 1 hour of work because of the snow and that wasn’t really needed. So next weekend Saturday we are walking with Bailey (might grab a few caches) and then Sunday I’m out with Dubzie86 to finish off havering park.
The other thing I have coming up is the London affiliate conference. My brother is coming down to go and I’m tagging along. Plenty of freebys? Partys and a bit of netwoking. Should be a good few days. As we have been invited to the Everest Poker party on the Saturday evening.
Went to play poker on Saturday at Harlow race track. Really good venue, although a bit cold to start. Plenty of snacks and drinks on offer. All at a very reasonable price. It was also easy enough to get to, once we cleared the busy Saturday traffic.
My play was good. I hit some realy good hands and had a few fun hands. There were 96 runners and the action kicked off just after 2pm.
First few rounds I stayed about the same in chip stacks. Not really gaining or losing out. After the 3rd break though I was average in chips, but the blinds were sky high. There were only 14 people left and I won a couple of pots. However I was moved tables with 11 people left in. I looked down in an early position at KJs raised it to 3 times the blind (nearly all in) only to be reraised all in. With only 2.5 bb’s left behind I had to call. He turned over a6os, so I was on a 50/50. Flop came down and gave him a 6 and it held up. I was out of the game as your bubble boy. tyvm
I was going to go geocaching, but a mix up between mates resulted in a day at home doing not a lot and having pizza for dinner.
Oh I did have a go on the old wii and my fitness coach… that was hard work. But a really good work out. I will be doing more later in the week.
I also hope to head back to Harlow hounds before the end of the year to play in another game. with regular games Friday and Saturday I am sure I will not be short on choices.
Yesterday I took another step in to the world of geocaching. I have bought myself a few trackable tags and also a trackable London bus.
So far I have activated the London bus and will set it free at some point over the weekend. It is a trackable coin in the shape of a bus. Mission is to travel the UK and pop back to London for re-fuel every now and then.
The other trackable is Roast Duck. A Welsh flag trolley coin attached to a nasty duck lanyard. It’s mission is to travel round Wales in 2010 and to then have a holiday abroad somewhere.
The 3rd one I have set up is a personal tracker. He will travel with me to caching events and hope to meet other geocachers on on his route.
