New Job in Payroll

I finally escaped from the boring job that I started in April.  I was recently offered a new job working for another company based right by Liverpool Street train station in London.  I wasn’t supposed to start until July, but the current job decided that they will let me leave early (oh how kind).  Which at first I thought woo hoo, but then realised that I can’t afford to be out of a job for 2 weeks; so I called my new place up and they are now letting me start on Wednesday next week.  My current job also agreed to pay me up until then, which is fine by me.  It means that I will no longer have to go in to work and sit and stare at the wall.

While in my old job last week, I was asking for work to do every day, but they were not giving me anything to do.  I thought fine, if they don’t have anything for me to do then I will just go online and wander the web for a while.  But oh no, I wasn’t allowed to do that as it wasn’t fair to other people who had lots of work to do.  So one of the Managers said to me, “I’ll find something for you, as we can’t have you sat online all day doing nothing”, my reply was “That’s fantastic, I would prefer to have some work than wander the web all day”.  She then had a go at me, telling me not to be so flippant and argumentative.  What an idiot she was, I hope never to have to work with her ever again.  If she ever became a manager of me again I would look at leaving, but it isn’t going to happen.

My new place seems really cool and a really good bunch of people to work with.  The cool thing is on Wednesday, I don’t have to start until 10am, but after that it will be 8.30 start until 5.30, but I don’t mind as long as there is plenty of work to do and the people are nice. I will be back in a few days I hope telling you how fab it is.  Until then I will probably be decorating in the house a bit more.
