Supreme O Glaze - Double Glazing

I have recently bought a new house and have been decorating it for a while now. All inside is done apart from the box room, so we have now decided that we need to get some new windows. The ones in the property are only single glazed and are not very good.

I know nothing about windows, but I am leaning very quick that double-glazing sales people totally earn their reputation. They are full of crap and tell you one thing and then change their story.

We had a guy come round from Supreme O Glaze. He was a total idiot. I had said I don’t want any cock sure sales rep coming round, so they sent me a cock sure manager. All I wanted was to measure up and give me a price. He was there from 8pm (an hour late) until 10pm. Took him ages to get all his crap out of the car and about 5 mins to take it away when we wouldn’t sign up on the spot.

Somehow he managed to go from over £13,000 down to £9222, which we said was still very high and a lot more than we wanted to pay. He then said he will do us a deal. If we go in the magazine, have before and after pictures done and have a board outside for 2 weeks (was 4 weeks, but changed to 2 weeks) then he would be able to do a deal of £4900. Now I’m not stupid and knew that his original price was full of crap. I asked if the price of £4900 would stand if we called in a weeks time and he said no. The price of £4900 was only if we signed up on the spot. We said no and he was gone in 5 mins. He became very rude and abrupt with us when we said no. Sod him, I would rather pay more and get someone I can trust.

While he was there he also told us he was Welsh and also he was Irish (never told us he was a cock). He was on moment on commission and then next he was on salary and dealt with business normally, but he wanted to help us out. Oh he was also a manager. The truth is I don’t think he knew what he was.

My advice is. Never even ask Supreme O Glaze round for even a quote.

House warming

Well what a weekend to choose for a house warming party. The weather was hot and the drink was flowing. When Carly asked earlier in the week about having a house warming party, I wasn’t so sure. There was the cost and then the thought of people with drink don’t mix well with a newly decorated house, espcialy with new carpet; a light carpet at that. But I am happy to say all went well, apart from some stupid mates that were running round the streets with their knobs hanging out. Total pricks if you ask me.. Still the party out the back was good and Carlys dad did a fantastic job of cooking all the food on the bbq.
I met a few of Carlys friends that I haven’t met b4. Family that we haven’t seen for a while. All in all it was a good party and people seemed to enjoy themselvs.

Poker Progress

Well since my last update I have played a little poker. I have decided to stay away from cash tables, as I normally play well, get a few $’s up and then end up throwing it away. Sit & go games are ok, but I normally win a few then lose quite a few in a row. The cards just don’t seem to be hitting for me. I did win a multi table tournament though. $2 buy-in and won a few cents shy of $50. I played my best ever game, just chipping away at players and hit the nuts a couple of times.

Since my win I have stayed away a bit. Not intentional though. Work has been busy and with the new house I have had a few mates round in the evenings and not been in the mood to play. I prefer to play late at night when I am on my own and can listen to some music.

Never mind I have a week off at the end of august and I will be playing a bit of poker. I might even try out a higher stakes game or 2. When I say higher I mean about a $5 or $10 if being brave. Also a few more mtt’s are in order.

I had a go on mansion poker the other day though and it was hard going. My progress was not helped by the software crashing all the time. I might cash out of PKR and have a go on a few other sites. Pokerstars.com seems a really popular site. Only thing is they don’t offer affiliate programs. Betfred isn’t one I want to play on for a while. VC poker seems like a good one though along with Bodog.

Why believe a higher being exists

I am just on my way home and had a thought. People believe in a higher existence (who ever or what ever that is) because they don’t want to accept responsibility that they really have the control. This also blows my long standing belief though of what ever happens, happens for a reason.
So what does anyone think?
People are always asking for a sign or proof that the higher being exists. 2007 years (a.c.) and were killing the planet.
I don’t think this is all down to our current actions. We have been digging out and burning fossil fuels for a many a year. With the petrol engine being a late addition (in the big scheme of things).
Also quite a few years back, didn’t we have a thing called the ice age? Well back then, you could have walked to many parts of Europe, due to the seas being frozen over. So in reality the earth has been getting warmer for a long time and no overnight bandwagon company is going to solve it. In fact some are probably doing more damage with all their marketing and gimmicks.
Who knows, who wants to know?
I think if we had answers to many of life’s big questions, we would be to scared to exist. …

Poker slow down, but New Site

At the moment with moving house, I haven’t had much chance to play much poker online.  So when a friend said he was having a poker night round his, I thought I would pop round and get in on the action.  It was a tournament, with last 2 people being paid out, with 10 people to start and £10 buy-in, it was looking like a nice pot of money to take home.  I didn’t win; I came 5th, with no re-buys.  Which I thought was really good.  I went out when the flop was 666 and I was holding A9 suited.  Unlucky for me, the other guy was holding pocket 2’s and non of my over cards came out.

Some poker news though is that one of the other sites I help run is using some of my poker reviews for their new launch.  Well it is my brother after all.  He has been sorting out getting the content together and putting it online (copying and pasting my reviews) what a cheek.  Pop over and have a look at www.ukpokerreview.co.uk let me know what you think.  The new site is much better and will also offer competitions in collaboration with some of the top poker rooms.  And don’t forget that the site also offers some of the best sign up bonus amounts you can find online; which we have been able to offer in conjunction with the poker rooms.  The final amounts and rules for the bonuses are all decided by the poker room you sign up to though and are not controlled by ukpoekrreview.co.uk

New Job in Payroll

I finally escaped from the boring job that I started in April.  I was recently offered a new job working for another company based right by Liverpool Street train station in London.  I wasn’t supposed to start until July, but the current job decided that they will let me leave early (oh how kind).  Which at first I thought woo hoo, but then realised that I can’t afford to be out of a job for 2 weeks; so I called my new place up and they are now letting me start on Wednesday next week.  My current job also agreed to pay me up until then, which is fine by me.  It means that I will no longer have to go in to work and sit and stare at the wall.

While in my old job last week, I was asking for work to do every day, but they were not giving me anything to do.  I thought fine, if they don’t have anything for me to do then I will just go online and wander the web for a while.  But oh no, I wasn’t allowed to do that as it wasn’t fair to other people who had lots of work to do.  So one of the Managers said to me, “I’ll find something for you, as we can’t have you sat online all day doing nothing”, my reply was “That’s fantastic, I would prefer to have some work than wander the web all day”.  She then had a go at me, telling me not to be so flippant and argumentative.  What an idiot she was, I hope never to have to work with her ever again.  If she ever became a manager of me again I would look at leaving, but it isn’t going to happen.

My new place seems really cool and a really good bunch of people to work with.  The cool thing is on Wednesday, I don’t have to start until 10am, but after that it will be 8.30 start until 5.30, but I don’t mind as long as there is plenty of work to do and the people are nice. I will be back in a few days I hope telling you how fab it is.  Until then I will probably be decorating in the house a bit more.

Quit the Gym

I have decided this week that I am going to quit the Gym. I have not been for a few months now and as I have just bought a new house also, I have decided that I can spend my time working out in my house. The amount of times I have walked up and down ladders and also the stairs in the house to fetch things has is more of a workout that I would do down the Gym. I have decided also that I can spend the money each month on better things like TV and Poker, oh and maybe a bit on D.I.Y.

The gym progress is short lived I know, but hey, I don’t have to escape the out laws house and can now chill in my own place. That is when Carly isn’t getting me running up and down ladders and stairs…

Owned a House for a Week

Well a week ago today I picked up the Keys for our house.  I thought we would spend a few days sorting things out and getting moved in a little bit, but oh no, not Carly.  Carly has had us decorating every room in the house in the past week.  The kitchen, living room, Hall stairs and landing and now a bedroom is all done and decorated.  I am glad to come back to work for a rest.  We now only have 2 bedrooms to do and a bit of tinkering in the bathroom (replace fittings to the bath, sink and toilet), then our bedroom and the office (3rd bedroom/box room).

The week started off by realising that all the carpets stank of dog piss.  Upon pulling the carpet up, there were massive stains underneath.  We now have pulled up all the carpet in the living room, hall stairs and landing and the bedrooms.  Plenty of decorating done, which in the living room ended up with us hack sawing the radiator off.  We have a local plumber company coming out to fit it on Thursday, so we will then have hot water and should be able to move in to the property. The only thing left to do then will be to get the carpets down, sofas and dining table delivered.  I might actually then get down to sit and watch a bit of TV that I have recorded using my Virgin Media V+ box.
